From time to time our clients ask such a question about torque: how on earth torques of similar gear boxes of various brands could be so different, and the torque difference would reach 20%-50%, making it difficult for customers to select a proper model. For customers, both the imported brands and the domestic brands have this issue, and their torques could be quite different.
For gear boxes with large torque, their genuine capacity is relatively small, making it rather risky to select a model according to the sample torque. On the other hand, customers encounter few quality issue in daily uses. Thus, customers may be quite confusing in this regard. As a matter of fact, the above issue might be incurred by a few reasons, to name a few important ones: the selected torque provided by the customer might have been enlarged in advance, while the actual torque in service is lower than the requirements of the selected torque; besides, gear box can satisfy the requirements in short term, however, it might fail to serve in long-term. Another possible factor is that the user` equipment is fluctuating in its load, while the event that torque is used in full is relatively rare. Additionally, it is likely that gear box manufacturers exaggerate the marked torque considering the highly competitive market, which might be another reason for the quality issue. The standards for marking torque adopted by different party might be different as well, resulting in distinct differences in torque.
